Compare Cloud Accounting Platforms for Singapore
The platforms we cover, side by side on the points that decide a purchase here: GST filing, InvoiceNow readiness, pricing, payroll integration, bank feeds, multi-user access, and the quality of local support.
Understand our evaluation methodHow to read this comparison
Treat each row as a question you need answered before you buy, not a ranking.
No single score
A platform strong on payroll may be weaker on inventory tracking. A startup with two staff and an ecommerce seller with four sales channels are not solving the same problem, so we publish the differences rather than a winner.
Provider-led versus direct
A package bought through a local provider can cost more upfront and save you weeks of chart-of-accounts setup. Both routes are legitimate; the page marks which one each option describes.
What we verify, and what we do not
We list what we can confirm from vendor pages and Singapore directory listings, and we say plainly where a detail could not be confirmed. Anything we could not check is flagged rather than smoothed over.
Where numbers go stale
InvoiceNow accreditation status and plan pricing change often. Instead of freezing a figure that will be wrong in three months, we point you to the vendor's own Singapore page and tell you which question to ask.
Most quarterly problems surface at reconciliation, not at filing. Check how each platform handles a refund and a credit note before you commit.
GST readiness in Singapore
GST handling is the first filter for most SMEs here. The software has to record output and input tax correctly, produce a return that matches IRAS expectations, and keep the audit trail intact if that return is questioned later.
That last part is where cheaper tools sometimes fall short. A return can be filed from a spreadsheet, but the supporting records may not hold up under scrutiny. Ask the vendor for a walkthrough using your own transaction types before you commit, and test the awkward cases rather than the tidy ones.
The practical test
Do GST codes flow correctly through invoicing, credit notes, and bank reconciliation without a manual adjustment each quarter? If you have to fix the same field four times a year, the platform is not carrying its weight.
Xero, Zoho Books, and Financio all position themselves around Singapore tax obligations to some degree. What differs is how much of the quarterly work stays inside the ledger.
InvoiceNow and e-invoicing support
Three levels of readiness
- Native documents. The platform produces e-invoice documents itself, with no partner in between.
- Partner or access point. The platform connects through an accredited access point, so the document is generated outside the ledger.
- Export only. Data can leave the platform, but somebody still has to turn it into a compliant document.
InvoiceNow readiness is a moving target across the market. Xero is referenced in Singapore guide and marketplace content as InvoiceNow-ready or accredited context, which makes it a common starting point for businesses that invoice other registered entities.
If B2B invoicing is central to your operation, confirm the current mechanism with the vendor or your local provider before you sign anything. The directory listings for Wealthbridge Corporate Services Pte. Ltd., KLOUDEX Pte. Ltd., Everyday Corporate Pte. Ltd., and Aggregate Cloud Accounting Software (Xero) all sit in the SMEs Go Digital ecosystem, which is a useful signal that a local implementation path exists.
Read the GST and InvoiceNow guidePricing models and what they hide
Cloud accounting pricing is rarely just the subscription. Compare the tier you will actually need in twelve months, not the entry price today.
Per-user or per-tier direct plans
The tier you land on usually depends on how many invoices or bank transactions you process each month. A quiet month hides the ceiling; a busy quarter finds it.
Provider-led bundles
Setup, migration, training, or ongoing bookkeeping get folded into the monthly figure. It looks higher, and the total cost of getting running may still be lower than assembling the same work yourself.
Free tiers and where they stop
Zoho Books is frequently highlighted in Singapore roundups for having a free plan, which suits very small businesses testing the water. That advantage fades once you need multiple users, payroll, or inventory, because those push you onto a paid tier anyway.
Add-ons that decide the bill
Payroll modules, extra company files, and ecommerce reconciliation tools often sit outside the headline plan. Price them into the comparison before you treat one vendor as the cheaper option.
Payroll data has to land in the right ledger accounts. Manual journals each month are the tell that an integration is not finished.
Payroll and bookkeeping together
Running payroll and bookkeeping in one platform removes a monthly export-import step and keeps employee costs visible alongside revenue. Financio markets accounting and payroll together for startups and SMEs, and other platforms handle payroll through add-ons or integrations.
Whether that matters depends on headcount and how much you value a single login. If you already use a payroll provider you trust, integration quality counts for more than native payroll.
What to check on an integration
- Payroll data lands in the right ledger accounts without manual journals.
- CPF and related contributions are handled consistently across both systems.
- A leaver's final pay and a mid-month joiner both reconcile without a correcting entry.
Bank feeds, multi-user access, and audit trail
Bank feeds from Singapore banks cut data entry and speed up bank reconciliation, which is where small teams lose the most time. Multi-user accounting lets a bookkeeper, an accountant, and a director work in the same books with separate logins, and multi-factor authentication protects those logins.
Bank feeds
Confirm which local banks the feed supports and how far back the history can be imported. A feed that covers your operating account but not your second one still leaves work on the table.
Multi-user access
Separate logins with role limits beat one shared password. Check how many users each tier includes, because this is a common place for a cheap plan to stop being cheap.
Audit trail
Records of who changed what and when matter at year-end and during any review. Ask to see the trail before you need it, not after a query lands.
Cloud versus desktop
Desktop and hybrid systems can do some of this, but usually with more manual file handling and a backup routine you own. If your team works remotely or your accountant is in a different office, cloud access is the practical choice.
Ecommerce sellers
If you sell on marketplaces, standard bookkeeping comparison tables will not help much. A2X automates ecommerce accounting for Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Walmart, and PayPal, focusing on settlement and reconciliation workflows. It sits alongside your ledger rather than replacing it.
One channel or four
Sellers with a single payout schedule may not need a reconciliation tool. Sellers reconciling four payout schedules by hand usually do, and they usually know it before they finish the first month.
Choosing between direct and provider-led
The same software can be bought directly or through a local provider. Direct is usually cheaper and puts configuration on you. A provider handles chart-of-accounts setup, GST configuration, migration of opening balances, and training, and is reachable by phone when something breaks.
Which is better comes down to your internal capacity. A founder with an accounting background can go direct. A founder who is also handling sales, hiring, and operations usually should not. Wealthbridge Corporate Services Pte. Ltd., KLOUDEX Pte. Ltd., Everyday Corporate Pte. Ltd., and Aggregate Cloud Accounting Software (Xero) all represent that provider-led model in the Singapore directory ecosystem.
