How Krovenza Evaluates Accounting Platforms
This page explains how we produce comparisons and reviews, so you can judge how much weight to give them. Krovenza is an independent editorial resource. We are not a software vendor, we do not resell any platform, and we do not accept payment for placement or for a favourable review.
See what we check firstWhat we look at first
We start with Singapore-specific facts. Does the vendor publish a Singapore product page or a local landing page? Is the platform listed in Singapore directories such as the SMEs Go Digital solution directory? Does the vendor describe how it handles GST, InvoiceNow, or local payroll? A platform with a global product and no local positioning gets marked as such, because that affects support and compliance fit.
We read vendor documentation and official pages rather than relying on secondhand summaries. Where a fact changes often, we say so and point you to the vendor rather than freezing a figure that will be wrong in a quarter.
Local presence on the vendor's own site
We check whether the vendor publishes a Singapore product page or a local landing page, and whether that page speaks to Singapore tax and filing realities rather than generic global copy.
Directory listings we can verify
A listing in the SMEs Go Digital solution directory is a Singapore-specific signal. We note whether the platform appears there and whether the listed scope matches what the vendor claims elsewhere.
How GST, InvoiceNow and payroll are handled
We look for vendor documentation that explains GST treatment, InvoiceNow support, and local payroll handling. Vague or absent documentation is itself a finding, because it shifts work back onto your team.
Sources we read directly
Vendor documentation and official pages come first. Where a fact changes often, we say so and link you to the vendor instead of printing a figure that will be wrong in a quarter.
Platform documents and official pages are read in full before any comparison row is written.
The criteria we compare on
Our comparison criteria are chosen for Singapore buyers, not for a generic software roundup. Each row below is something we check on every platform, and each one is something you can check yourself before you commit.
GST readiness
Whether the platform produces a compliant tax invoice, handles GST-inclusive and GST-exclusive amounts correctly, and supports the reporting your filing cycle needs.
InvoiceNow support
Whether the platform can send and receive invoices through the InvoiceNow network, and whether that support is built in or depends on an add-on.
Bank feeds from local banks
Which Singapore banks feed transactions directly into the ledger, how often the feed refreshes, and what happens when a feed breaks.
Bank reconciliation workflow
How many steps a reconciliation takes, whether rules can be saved and reused, and how clearly unmatched items surface at month end.
Multi-user access and permissions
Whether an owner, an in-house bookkeeper and an external accountant can work in the same file with roles that limit what each of them can change.
Multi-factor authentication and audit trail
Whether sign-in can be protected with a second factor, and whether the platform records who changed what, so a discrepancy can be traced rather than argued about.
Payroll and inventory
Whether payroll posts into the ledger without manual re-entry, and whether stock movement is tracked well enough to value inventory at year end.
Cash flow forecasting and local support
How far ahead the forecast projects, and how quickly you can reach support in your own working hours when a filing deadline is close.
Pricing model and tier structure
We look at how plans are structured and what each tier includes, but published prices are indicative only. The more useful question is which tier you will need at your transaction volume twelve months from now.
How we handle vendors and providers
Some entries in our coverage are software products; others are local providers packaging software with services. We treat these differently. A product review covers features and fit. A provider review covers implementation quality, onboarding scope, training, and support responsiveness, with the underlying platform noted separately.
The provider entries we currently cover, Wealthbridge Corporate Services Pte. Ltd., KLOUDEX Pte. Ltd., Everyday Corporate Pte. Ltd., and Aggregate Cloud Accounting Software (Xero), all work with Xero as the underlying platform. That means the software differences between them are minimal and the service differences are what matter.
Product review covers
Features, GST and InvoiceNow handling, bank feeds, reconciliation workflow, user permissions, and the fit between the product and your transaction volume.
Provider review covers
Implementation quality, onboarding scope, training, and how quickly support answers when something goes wrong — with the platform noted separately so you can tell software from service.
What we do not do
No single overall score
A weighted number hides the trade-offs that matter. A platform that scores well on inventory may be weak on payroll, and one number cannot tell you which of those applies to your business.
No ranked best-in-class list
The right choice depends on your business type. A ranking implies one platform wins for everyone, which is not how Singapore SME accounting decisions work in practice.
No sponsored reviews or paid placement
We do not accept sponsored reviews or paid placement, and we do not publish user ratings or testimonials unless we have verifiable records. We do not manufacture social proof.
No claim of hands-on testing everywhere
We do not claim to test software in a live production environment for every platform. Where our assessment is based on documentation and directory listings rather than hands-on use, we say so in the review.
Reviews are revisited when a Singapore offering changes in a way that affects a buying decision.
How often we update
We revisit reviews when a platform changes its Singapore offering in a way that affects a buying decision, such as a change to GST handling, InvoiceNow support, pricing structure, or local support channels. We also update when a provider's directory listing changes materially.
Between updates, we rely on readers to flag anything that looks stale. Corrections go through the contact form and are checked against the vendor's current pages before we change the copy. If a correction is valid, the review changes; if it is not, we explain why in the same reply.
How to read our coverage
Use the comparison page to narrow the field on the criteria that matter to you, then read the individual reviews for detail. Use the GST and InvoiceNow guide if compliance is your main driver.
If you disagree with an assessment, tell us why. We would rather correct an error than defend one.
Flag something that looks stale
Send the page, the sentence you doubt, and what you believe the current position is. Corrections are checked against the vendor's current pages before any copy changes.

Questions about our method
Do you accept payment for a review or a better position?
No. We do not accept payment for placement or for a favourable review, and we do not run sponsored reviews. If a platform or provider wants to correct a factual point, we treat that as a correction, not as a purchase, and we check it against the vendor's current pages before changing anything.
Why is there no score out of ten?
Because the trade-offs are the useful part. A platform that suits a retail business with stock may not suit a service company billing on InvoiceNow. A single number flattens that difference, so we describe the criteria, the fit, and the limitations instead of hiding them behind a score.
Do you test every platform hands-on?
Not for every platform. Where an assessment is based on vendor documentation and directory listings rather than hands-on use, the review says so. We would rather label the basis of an assessment than imply a test that did not happen.
Why are provider entries compared differently from software?
Because the software is often the same. When several Singapore providers package the same underlying platform, the product features barely differ and the real difference is onboarding, training, and how quickly support answers. Comparing them on features alone would tell you almost nothing.
How do I know a review is still current?
Reviews are revisited when a platform changes its Singapore offering in a way that affects a buying decision, and when a provider's directory listing changes materially. If you find a sentence that no longer matches the vendor's current pages, send it through the contact form and we will check it.
Who publishes Krovenza
Krovenza is operated by Krovenza Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-registered company. The desk publishes cloud accounting software comparisons, platform reviews, and compliance guides for Singapore businesses, and it does not sell, resell, or officially support any accounting platform. Vendor support and official registration for each platform come from that platform's own Singapore entity or authorised partner, and we point you to those pages in the individual reviews.
